PointComma - a web content management framework

PointComma is an open-source data persistence framework, designed to support the creation of dynamic web sites and custom-made content management systems to maintain those sites. PointComma is composed of a set of PHP libraries to allow and control various levels of access to the content of a MySQL database, and a web interface to maintain that database as well as access rights. PointComma must be implemented by a programmer to power a web site, as it doesn't ship with a default visualization of the information.

Key features: PointComma supports the creation of usable web sites, by imposing very few requirements on the design process. PHP templating engine Smarty is integrated and well supported, enabling the creation of robust, lightweight web application. Text with basic layout can be entered easily by users without technical knowledge. A system for user and rights management is included.

Released as an open-source application, PointComma is being developed and supported by Splandigo BV, a web agency based in Amsterdam and providing quality web sites to small and medium companies in Europe. If you are interested in getting PointComma implemented for your web site (or your client's), contact Splandigo.

Typical use of PointComma by Splandigo takes the form of a PointComma web publishing system, a flexible basis for a custom-made content management system (CMS), taylored to the needs of each project.

Would you like to learn more about the system? Check out the 'about' section and particularly the conceptual introduction. You can then download the app, and start playing with it, using the documentation. When your site is online, let us know and it will be featured in the 'implementations' section, like numerous others already.
